The firm was recently acquired by Billionaire New York Real Estate Developer Adam Azoulay, in which the firm’s name was change from Empire_NYC to Azoulay_NYC. Regardless of the name change, the aim remains the same.

The company was originally founded through a relationship between Frederick Law Olmstead and New York City mayoral offices to specifically build structures, residences and areas that can benefits the livelihood of New Yorkers and continue to promote New York City as model city.

As a result, Azoulay projects have set the standard in modern engineering and architecture for their impressive and innovative designs, but more importantly their lasting influence on the livelihoods of the people of New York.
Frederick Law Olmstead in known as the father of landscape architecture. At the time urban design, and landscape architecture were not considered formal disciplines, and thereby clustered in the general definition of ‘architecture’. Olmstead held many positions in journalism, sanitary commissions, mining, design, conservationism and many other disciplines. It was through these many experiences that Olmstead was able to develop and found the ‘landscape architecture’ discipline. His most notable endeavour was the design and development of New York City’s Central Park. Shortly after the Park’s completion in 1857, the mayor of New York offered Olmstead to created and run a city-endorsed architectural. This firm would strictly serve the City of New York by developing large-scaled project to ameliorate the quality of life in the city. Frederick Law Olmstead took on the project until his death in 1903, in which the firm was terminated.
Usually referred to a the most infamous American architect in history, Frank Lloyd Wright freed an entire generation of architects and designers by pioneering the rejection of utilitarian architectural design in favor of sculptural functional design. Wright was an artist, architect, and visionary with a larger than life aura that followed him. His vast endeavours in the tri-state area, including the Guggenheim museum brought the architect great fame and fortune in 1940s. During this time, he chose to revive a terminated city-endorsed architectural firm that was initially founded by Frederick Law Olmstead, the executive designer of Central Park.
